SAN FRANCISCO

Ceremony honoring Mark Bingham, Father Mychal Judge and others
San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee will deliver remarks at an event at Harvey Milk Plaza at 1 p.m. After, there will be an open mic opportunity for people to share their memories.

San Francisco Fire Department September 11th Remembrance Ceremony
Each year, on Sept. 11, the San Francisco Fire Department respectfully holds a remembrance ceremony for the Emergency Responders and civilians who perished in the tragic events of 9/11. The remembrance ceremony takes place at all 43 fire stations.

Members of the public wishing to observe the ceremony and honor the fallen of the World Trade Center, New York City, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia and the crash site in Shanksville, Pennsylvania are invited to go to their local Fire Station to do so beginning at 6:45 a.m.

Golden Gate Bridge March for Peace and Justice Calls for End to US Wars
On the tenth anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001, hundreds of people affiliated with a coalition of 25 Bay Area peace and justice groups coordinated by CODEPINK Women for Peace will march across the Golden Gate Bridge in commemoration of the tragic loss of lives and will call for an end to the US wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The march commences at 11:30 a.m. from either side of the bridge and follows with a rally on the Marin side from 1-2 p.m.

EAST BAY

Union City hosting Day of Remembrance
Union City will be hosting a Day of Remembrance at its Flight 93 Memorial on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011. The Remembrance ceremony starts at 1p.m., and will feature a special Honor Guard consisting of local Eagle Scouts, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 9601 Honor Guard (Castro Valley), the American Legion Honor Guard, District 10 (Alameda County) and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Honor Guard (National) to present the colors.

Clayton 9/11 memorial ceremony
In honor of those fallen on Sept. 11, 2001 the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District, in conjunction with the Clayton Police Department, Clayton City officials and numerous church congregations from around the area, will hold a ceremony to remember the events of that tragic day.

The memorial ceremony will be held at Fire Station 11 at 6500 Center Street in Clayton beginning at 7p.m. Upon conclusion of the ceremony, the Contra Costa County Firefighters Local 1230 Honor Guard will lead a candlelight procession down Main Street in Clayton concluding at the town flagpole.

SOUTH BAY

Mountain View 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony
On Sunday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m., there will be a 10th anniversary remembrance ceremony to honor the heroes from 9/11. Members of all U.S. military branches, local police and fire officials and civic dignitaries will walk in a ceremonial procession down Mercy Street to Civic Center Plaza followed by a singing of the national anthem, speaker presentations, a moment of silence and lowering of the flag.

Islamic Networks Group hosts interfaith gathering in Saratoga
The Islamic Networks Group is hosting an interfaith gathering to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. The keynote speakers are Supervisor Dave Cortese, Imam Aladdin El Bakri, Fr. Jon Pedigo, Rabbi Dana Magat and Shifu Jian Hu.

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Saratoga High School McAfee Performing Arts and Lecture Center at 2030 Herriman Ave. in Saratoga.

From fear to friendship: In loving memory of 9/11 victims
The American Muslim Voice Foundation, Muslim Community Association, Northern California Islamic Council along with multifaith groups and community organizations will host a memorial in loving memory of 9/11 victims on Sunday, Sept. 11 2011 at the Muslim Community Association (3003 Scott Blvd, Santa Clara CA 95054) from 4:30-8:30 p.m. There will multi-faith prayers, a dinner discussion, a children's cultural event and a candle light vigil.

September 11 Commemoration in San Jose
We are inviting our city to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the attacks on 9/11. This faith-based service will honor the 3,000 lives lost that day, the men and women who currently serve protecting our city, and the men and women who are serving in the military.

Redwood City September 11 Day of Remembrance
The Day of Remembrance will begin at 5:47 a.m. at Courthouse Square in Redwood City (2200 Broadway Street) as a delegation representing fire fighters, law enforcement, EMS, Red Cross and clergy will join with all who wish to share in lighting a candle to designate a space for those who would like to come during the day for a moment of reflection, to leave a flower or other token.

NORTH BAY

Ceremony set to dedicate site for Napa 9/11 Memorial Garden
The Coalition for the Napa 9/11 Memorial Garden will host a ceremony on September 11, 2011 to honor the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. The ceremony will include a dedication at the future site of the Napa 9/11 Memorial Garden that will stand in downtown Napa west of Main Street, South of Napa Creek, and across from the Napa Valley Opera House (1000 Main Street).

The public is invited to the ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2011. Selected dignitaries will speak, an all faith blessing by religious leaders will take place, along with other patriotic activities.
