Holiday retail sales expected to remain low

It's only September, but already retailers are predicting you won't spend all that much during this upcoming holiday season.

An industry forecast says sales in November and December will go up about 3 percent over last year, but the growth rate was is down from last year, when sales increased 4.1 percent.

Retailers say shoppers are worried about job security, so they're sticking to essentials and looking for bargains.

Fewer are making trips to the mall and shopping more online.
