Study: Hospital curtains can be loaded with bacteria

A new study finds hospital privacy curtains pose a serious health risk to patients and health care workers.

Researchers found those curtains are loaded with bacteria; including the potentially deadly antibiotic-resistant strain known as MRSA. They found even brand new curtains became contaminated within a week. Experts say the simplest defense against bacteria build-up is for health care workers to wash their hands before opening or closing the curtain.
