New York "Subway Surfer" caught on video

Subway riders in New York City couldn't believe their eyes as a train sped beneath Manhattan's Lower East Side last month. A man was clinging to the side of a J train as it traveled through a tunnel.

A college student riding inside the train caught the act on video and posted it on YouTube.

The train stopped after a passenger alerted the conductor to what was happening but the unidentified subway surfer disappeared into the tunnel.

He got off the train right before it crossed the Williamsburg Bridge, 135 feet above the East River.

The NYPD is investigating the incident.
