Authorities bust large pot grow in Napa County

NAPA COUNTY, Calif.

Over the past three weeks, deputies have eradicated more than 3,700 plants, confiscated 100 to 200 pounds of dried processed marijuana and arrested 18 people.

Authorities say the weed was not being grown for medicinal use.

Several of the raids were conducted in the Pope Valley area. One large garden was found as a result of a tip from a neighbor, while another was spotted from the air.

At one location, deputies interrupted a harvesting operation. At another location, a buyer called on the phone while authorities were serving a search warrant.
