Pelosi, Lee bring awareness to homeless vet services

SAN FRANCISCO

Pelosi and Lee were in town to take part in a national initiative to raise awareness about the services available to homeless veterans.

On Wednesday, the Department of Veterans Affairs presented the Harbor Light Center with a $300,000 check, enough to purchase 10 beds.

"About 92 percent of the veterans leave her and go on to other permanent housing," said Robert Rosenthal with the San Francisco VA Medical Center.

As Pelosi toured an expansion of the Harbor Light Center, the talk was about standing up for veterans.

"When they come home, we leave no veteran behind," Pelosi said.

The Harbor Light Center hopes to break ground by the end of the year.
