SF considers harsher penalty for double parking

Today, the Municipal Transportation Agency's governing board will discuss a 25 percent increase in double parking fines to $100. Other ideas on the table include doubling the current $50 fines for blocking traffic and for illegally riding bikes on the sidewalk. Muni has recently added more cameras outside Muni buses. They could help capture violators' license plates and then the city could citations in the mail.
