A man was injured early this morning when he was struck by a car while walking in San Francisco's Crocker-Amazon neighborhood, a fire official said.

Emergency personnel responded to the collision shortly before 6 a.m. near the corner of Mission Street and Ottawa Avenue, San Francisco fire spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.

The 32-year-old man was transported to San Francisco General Hospital. Talmadge said he was conscious but confused, and that she did not know the extent of his injuries. She said he may have suffered some facial trauma.

Talmadge said the driver of the car stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
