San Jose's "Music in the Park" comes to an end

SAN JOSE, Calif.

The Downtown Association officially pulled the plug on the free summer concerts at its board meeting on Thursday.

The San Jose Mercury News reports the cost of producing the concerts at Plaza de Cesar Chavez had gone up while revenue from food and beer sales had fallen.

The money raised went to pay for other free public downtown San Jose events, including a farmer's market, an outdoor movie series and an ice rink.
