DMV worker to be honored for being an organ donor

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.

Next month's Donate Life float at the Rose Parade will feature a floral portrait of Kimberley Williams-Ibarra. The veteran DMV employee from El Sobrante passed away suddenly last year after suffering a blood clot on her lungs. Kimberly's mother says the illness inspired her daughter to become an organ donor.

"I'm so thankful that she's a selfless person and that she has saved over 50 people with her tissue," said Rae Williams, Kimberley's mother.

Kimberly's co-workers watched as DMV director George Valverde helped her mom put the finishing touches on the floragraph on Tuesday at the Walnut Creek field office she managed for 19 years.

You can see her portrait on the "Donate Life Float" when the rose parade airs Jan. 2nd.
