On Friday, an Alameda-based U.S. Coast Guard cutter came home from the War On Drugs. The cutter "Bertholf" has been on patrol off Panama's Pacific Coast.

Last month, the cutter took part in three missions that netted nearly 2,500 pounds of cocaine and 12 suspected drug smugglers. It docked Friday morning, at the Alameda Coast Guard Station.

The Bertholf's deployment lasted 70 days. The Coast Guard can't say where it's headed next, or when.
