Officers responded to the 1100 block of Lozier Alley around 6:20 p.m. Friday and found a car stopped in the alley with its tires spinning. Officers opened the car door and found a man with multiple stab wounds to his torso, police said.
The victim was taken to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center after fire crews and emergency medics arrived at the scene, police said.
Vallejo resident Ceasar Villalobos was pronounced dead after he succumbed to his injuries in the operating room several hours after he was brought in, police said this morning.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
This is the city's 18th homicide of the year, police said.
