Swedish authorities have recognized a group dedicated to file-sharing as an official religion.
The Church of Kopimism says file-sharing is sacred and government eavesdropping is evil. To receive the special designation, the group needed to formalize its way of praying. Members say they find their higher calling by copying and sharing files with others.
Swedish authorities maintain piracy of copyrighted material is still illegal.
