Trial begins in Richmond police race bias lawsuit

A trial begins this morning pitting Richmond's police chief against several of his officers.

The city hired Chief Chris Magnus five years ago from North Dakota. Within months, seven high-ranking African-American officers complained that Magnus and his former top deputy told racist jokes. The chief says the incidents in question are taken out of context and some of them are fabricated. The city has already spent $3 million defending itself.
