The blaze was reported lateTuesday morning at a two-story condominium building in the 100 block of Merrydale Road, San Rafael Fire Chief Chris Gray said.
Firefighters entered the unit that was burning and found that there was no one inside, Gray said. Adjacent units were evacuated as a precaution.
No injuries have been reported.
