Here is a list of Martin Luther King Jr. events and activities around the Bay Area. 7 a.m. "Beyond the Dream," community breakfast to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Sponsored by the Berkeley Organizing Congregations for Action, the Berkeley police department and mayor's office, the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce and others. 8:30 a.m. The 13th annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration at The San Mateo Caltrain station. Following the celebration, participants can Join the Freedom Train to San Francisco, which stops in San Mateo at 10 a.m. Caltrain station, 385 First Ave., San Mateo.

8:30 a.m. Habitat restoration and invasive plant removal at the annual day of service at Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline. Enter at the Peppermint Gate, Oakport Road, North of 66th Avenue, Oakland

8:30 a.m. Habitat for Humanity and Rebuilding Together SF will perform renovations to the Bayview Opera House as part of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. Bayview Opera House, 4705 Third St., San Francisco.

9 a.m. The fifth annual Martin Luther King Day of Service in Richmond. Registration is at Sixth Street and Ohio Avenue on the Richmond Greenway

9 a.m. Martin Luther King Day of Service in Oakland's Sobrante Park neighborhood. Note: opening ceremony is at 8:30 a.m. Volunteers will meet at Sobrante Park elementary school, 470 El Paseo Drive, Oakland.
