Last Wednesday around 5:25 a.m. the San Mateo County Sheriff's Bomb Squad responded to a report of a Vietnam military grenade that was inside a garage in the Linda Mar area.
The sheriff's office said the military grenade was believed to have been brought back from the Vietnam War as a souvenir.
After the bomb squad inspected the grenade it was determined to be intact and live.
The squad then secured the grenade and took it to a remote location where it was safely mitigated, according to sheriff's officials.
