Oakland police investigating string of shootings

Oakland police have their hands full this morning investigating a violent string of shootings. At least 10 people were wounded over the weekend and it may not be over.

About 1:00 a.m. Monday, a man in his 40s was found shot at 83rd Avenue and International. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. One suspect was taken into custody at the scene.

On Sunday afternoon, seven people were injured in a shootout between two groups at Adeline between 32nd and 34th Streets. A fully automatic weapon was discharged. Nobody was killed in that incident.

There were two other shootings on Sunday; one took place at 5:30 a.m. and the other at about 4:00 p.m.. In both of those incidents, the victims drove themselves to the hospital.

Police have not released any information regarding possible motives, or if the shootings are related.
