Alameda food truck ordinance goes into effect today

A new food truck ordinance goes into effect today in Alameda. Under the new rules, food trucks will have to pass health and safety inspections and get city business licenses.

Just like restaurants, the trucks will also need permits to park. They can set up in five specific off-street locations and on most streets in the city, as long as they steer clear of driveways and crosswalks.
