A new study finds infants who are spoon-fed are more likely to be overweight than babies who eat their first food with their hands.

Researchers at Nottingham University in Great Britain studied 155 children.

They found that spoon-feeding babies mashed up fruits and vegetables appears to give them a sweet tooth.

Conversely, they found that offering infants food to grab and self-feed sets the stage for healthy eating in early childhood.
