SJ police searching for 16-year-old robbery suspect

SAN JOSE, Calif.

The teen male, who is wanted in connection with at least one armed robbery in San Jose, was spotted by patrol officers Monday afternoon but ran away when the officers attempted to contact him, police said.

Officers saw the suspect at around 3:45 p.m. in the 2000 block of Southwest Expressway and the teen was seen running toward a creek that runs parallel to the expressway, according to police.

The creek trail is closed as officers search the area, police said.

The suspect was described as a black male wearing a black sweatshirt and a black baseball cap with a teal brim.

Police said the suspect may be armed and anyone who sees him is urged to call 911 immediately.
