The Municipal Transportation Agency might add up to 1,000 meters where parking is now free. The MTA is also thinking about charging for meters later in the evening and on Sundays. And it may raise parking fines by $3.
Proposed changes to Muni include service cuts and adding a 25-cent surcharge for cash fares. The MTA is already planning on a $2 price hike for a monthly Muni pass, bringing the cost to $64.
