It's an exciting time for bird watchers in San Jose.

The mama peregrine falcon, named Clara, nesting atop city hall laid her first egg of the season on Saturday evening.

The predatory bird research group -- which monitors the falcons -- expects a second egg to drop on Monday night and at least two more by Friday.

Clara is expected to be guarding her nest for the next 33 days until her falcon babies crack open.
