British actor Jonathan Pryce is in San Francisco in a new production of Harold Pinter's "The Caretaker." It's a play Pryce first did 30 years ago.

Pryce plays a tramp taken in by two brothers in Pinter's classic 1960 play.

"Its universal themes of compassion for humanity and understanding people who suffer from mental illness," Pryce said.

Pryce first gained acclaim for his award winning 1980 performance as Hamlet.

We were charmed by him in the futuristic cult film "Brazil."

He is part of the "Pirates" franchise.

And he was a media mogul in the Bond film "Tomorrow Never Dies."

He won a Tony for his 1991 role in "Miss Saigon" which he had originated in London.

"The Caretaker" will be at the Curran through April 22.
