Gunfire erupts during Oakland home invasion

Oakland police are trying to determine if a home invasion robbery and shooting is related to a street robbery that happened minutes earlier.

It happened around 12:30 this morning on the 9500 block of Holly Street. Officers say it started on the street. The suspects entered a home and shot one man in the chest. No word on his condition. Police are now trying to figure out if this home invasion robbery is connected to a street robbery 15 minutes earlier at 75th and MacArthur.

"Two individuals appear to have robbed a male adult and he was shot in the chest -- transported to a local hospital. We are still waiting for a status on the condition of our victim," said Oakland Police Department Sgt. Jack Doolittle.

Neighbors said there are drugs at the house, but police would not confirm that.

The two suspects remain at large.
