Police announced today they have posted photos online of more than 100 stolen bicycles recovered earlier this month from a San Francisco man who allegedly had them stored in his home in the city's Silver Terrace neighborhood as well as in two storage lockers in Oakland.
The stash of bicycles was discovered after investigators from the Ingleside Police Station were led to the home of Irving Sanchez, 18, in the 200 block of Charter Oak Avenue, police said.
Investigators discovered eight stolen bicycles in the kitchen, and also found evidence that led them to two self-service storage lockers in the 5200 block of Coliseum Way in Oakland.
After obtaining a search warrant on May 15, police found 25 bicycles in one of the storage units and 81 in the other, as well as 80 bicycle tires and a frame.
Sanchez was arrested on May 17 and charged with numerous felony counts of receiving stolen property, police said.
The Ingleside Station has posted photos of all of the recovered bicycles on their website. Victims who identify their bicycle must provide either a case number from a theft report or proof that the bicycle belongs to them, police said.
