Lawmakers tell airlines to back off on family pricing

Airlines are being told to knock it off or face regulations when it comes to family travel.

Last week I reported new airline policies are forcing families to pay more just to sit together. Additional fees for aisle and window seats means families must pay more or allow their children to sit with strangers.

Reports about the new fees have prompted Sen. Charles Schumer, D-New York, to ask the airlines to rethink any policy that separates families.

There's no word yet from airlines.
