Lawmakers close to passing law on passwords

Some employers are asking job applicants for their social media passwords. That enables companies to view social network profiles and pictures as part of a background check.

In California there was an uproar and now the state senate has approved a bill barring companies from asking for the passwords.

The bill now heads over to the assembly. I will keep track of its progress and will report back.
