Against all odds, 23 former dropouts graduated Thursday from San Francisco's Youth Chance High School. Ceremonies were held at the Embarcadero YMCA, where classes are taught. Youth Chance High says these dedicated students have all identified solid career goals, and all of them are going to college, or a professional trade school.

"It feels great. I feel it took a long time for me to do it, but it finally happened all this hard work... hard work pays off," said Jonathan Ramirez, a Youth Chance High School graduate.

That young man is going to a barber's college. Youth Chance High says its mission is to make sure students have the academic, vocational, and life skills they need to succeed. And Thursday, it was mission accomplished.
