New farm helps at-risk youth

ALAMEDA COUNTY, Calif.

City officials and law enforcement officers dedicated an eight acre farm in the San Leandro hills Thursday. It's a project of Dig Deep Farms and Alameda County Sheriff's to help create jobs for young people and increase their awareness of local food sustainability.

"It's been a rocky day, but we've got a great group of young people, they've worked hard, they are dedicated, and they pulled it off," said Alameda County Sheriff's Sgt. Marty Neideffer.

The project has been in the making for the past two years.
