Redwood City police launch live video chat feature

June 26, 2012 6:39:59 PM PDT
The Redwood City Police Department has seen the future of community policing, and it's live, online video access to an officer when you need one.

Redwood City is one of the first cities in the nation to provide live video chat sessions between cops and civilians. It's designed to help break down barriers and make information more accessible.

The service is not for emergencies. It's staffed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
