Deputies in standoff in Ashland after teen shot in face

ASHLAND, Calif.

Authorities say a teenager was shot in the face. Many deputies could be seen crouched along a walkway on the second floor of the building. A K-9 unit also responded to the scene. At one point, it appeared that authorities were trying to make contact with someone inside.

"We got reports of a man down with a gunshot wound. When we got here, we found a black male adult with a gunshot wound. He was transported to the trauma center and right now, we're looking for a black male adult suspect who is wearing a white t-shirt," explained Sgt. JD Nelson with the Alameda County Sheriff's Office. "We've received a lot of different information and some of that information leads us to these apartments and not necessarily that the suspect is there, but we do have to clear all those options before we can move forward."
