Hayashi to run for Alameda County board of Supervisors

CASTRO VALLEY, Calif.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, East Bay Assemblywoman Mary Hayashi has filed papers to run for the supervisor seat left vacant by Nadia Lockyer, who recently resigned to deal with personal matters. Former Union City Councilman Richard Valle currently serves in her seat and also plans to run for a full term in November.

Hayashi is still on probation after pleading no contest to shoplifting $2,500 worth of clothing from the Neiman Marcus store in Union Square.

Hayashi has proven recently that she is capable of raising large amounts of campaign money.
