PG&E says around 10:45 a.m., a 3rd-party contractor struck a 2-inch plastic line that was installed last year at Glenview Drive and Earl Avenue. Preliminary evacuations are underway.
A large transmission line exploded in the same area nearly two years ago. That blast and the firestorm that followed killed eight people, injured more than 50 more, and destroyed more than three dozen homes.
