Suspect arrested after high-speed chase across bay

CONCORD, Calif.

It started in Pittsburg shortly before 2 a.m. and continued on to San Francisco before heading back east on the lower deck of the Bay Bridge. The CHP put out spike strips to flatten the tires of the vehicle, but it continued on to Concord where the suspect got out and ran. The 28-year-old man was arrested after officers and a police dog chased him down.

There is no word yet on why he tried so hard to get away from authorities, who are now working on a list of charges to file against him.
