All inmates accounted for after attempted break-in at Marin County Juvenile Hall

Police are seeking the suspect, or suspects, who tried to break into the Marin County Juvenile Hall this morning. All inmates are safe and accounted for.

The Marin County sheriff's office said staff heard noise outside the facility around 4:45 a.m.; someone with a sledgehammer and bolt cutters made an attempt to break into the facility, they were un-able to enter and ran off when they heard staff.

The sheriff's office launched an immediate search of the area with the help of San Rafael police, Novato police and the CHP.

The facility houses about twenty youths awaiting trial on a variety of offenses. All juvenile hall staff was not harmed in the incident.
