SAN FRANCISCO --You may notice more patrol cars out on the road this holiday weekend. It's all part of a statewide crackdown on drunk and dangerous drivers.
During the long Labor Day weekend you'll see sobriety checkpoints in several Peninsula cities, as well as in San Francisco, San Jose, and other cities.In San Francisco, the crackdown began on August 17. And officers made 85 drunken driving arrests as of last Thursday. That's down about 30 percent from last year. DUI arrests in San Mateo County during the same enforcement period are also down.
