The nurses work at Good Samaritan Hospital and Regional Medical Center. They've been without a contract since June. One nurse says the biggest roadblock is retirement benefits.
"Our nurses need to be able to retire with dignity," said intensive care nurse Dorothy Higgins. "And they need to know that while they're in there giving care that they someday too will be able to retire with dignity and with the hope that they can live and be comfortable in their old age and not in poverty."
A hospital spokeswoman counters good proposals have been made on retirement and health care. Negotiations continue Thursday.
