15-year-old autistic boy beaten at South Hayward BART

HAYWARD, Calif.

The right side of Trevor Kennedy's mouth was badly swollen. He and a friend were walking near the station at midnight in July. A man in his 30s asked the boys to get him a cab. They refused and he began punching Trevor.

Police arrived, cuffed the man, and noticed he was carrying marijuana. The District Attorney's office charged the man with possession, but not assault.

"I don't feel what this man is getting is justice. And I told my brother I would do whatever it takes to make sure this man pays for his crimes," said Justyne West, Trevor's sister.

The family has created a Facebook page called "Justice For Trevor" to rally support for the teen.
