"I'm hoping it's just a kid with what looks like a bazooka or a machine gun, but there's a kid standing on the corner pointing something at vehicles driving by and another guy videotaping it," a witness said during one of the calls to 9-1-1.
"Hey, I don't know if there's an emergency, but it looks like some kid, but he's dressed up and he's got like a fake bazooka-looking thing and I don't know if it's a joke or what, and they're probably trying to be funny, but not really funny," another caller told an emergency operator.
Police arrested the man who was videotaping his teenage nephew. Michael David Turley posted the video on YouTube and claims he did it to see how long it would take police to respond to a terrorist threat. He narrated the video with his face and voice disguised.
He did it in July, a few days after the Aurora, Colorado shooting massacre. Police weren't amused.
Turley faces four different charges including endangerment and knowingly giving false information.
