Driver who hit woman in wheelchair sought

BELMONT, Calif.

It happened along El Camino Real Thursday night. Police say the woman was on the sidewalk when the Mercedes turned into the driveway of a McDonald's restaurant, hitting her. They say the driver had some sort of interaction with the woman, but left before officers arrived.

The woman was treated at the scene by Belmont Fire Department paramedics and transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Belmont Police are asking the driver of the Mercedes to come forward and provide a statement regarding the collision. Anyone who saw or has information on this collision is asked to contact the Belmont Police Traffic Unit at 650-595-7400.
