Group to launch Mirkarimi recall campaign

SAN FRANCISCO

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that anti-domestic violence advocates plan to make it official next week.

It's the same group who successfully campaigned to defeat Supervisor Christina Olague in Tuesday's election. Olague was one of four supervisors who voted to give the sheriff his job back. Though thousands of votes are still outstanding and the results are not official yet, figures released Wednesday night show Olague steadily losing ground to challenger London Breed.

Mirkarimi was suspended from office following a domestic violence incident involving his wife, before he was reinstated.
