Major delays on Caltrain after fatal accident in Palo Alto

PALO ALTO, Calif.

The train collision occurred near Charleston Avenue in Palo Alto at about 5:35 a.m., resulting in both north and southbound tracks to close while investigators remain on scene, according to Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn.

The train that struck the person, northbound train 103, had 55 passengers on board and no injuries have been reported, according to Dunn.

Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority is providing a bus bridge between the Palo Alto and San Antonio stations.

Caltrain passengers can expect major delays throughout the morning commute.
