Worker injured when cherry picker overturns

SANTA ROSA, Calif.

Fire crews were called to the 1400 block of Airport Boulevard, just east of the Charles M. Shultz-Sonoma County Airport, about 8:50 a.m., Central Fire Authority Battalion Chief Matt Gustafson said.

The man, believed to be in his early 70s, was in an elevated basket when the truck the basket was attached to overturned, Gustafson said.

Gustafson said the man, whose name has not been not released, was painting a building and the truck was parked in a lot at the time.

He said it is not yet clear what caused the truck to overturn.

The man was transported to a hospital to be treated, Gustafson said. He did not know the extent of the man's injuries.

No one else was hurt. Cal/OSHA is investigating the incident.
