Boy's turkey call credited for helping find missing dog

Eleven-year-old Austin Gibson was practicing a turkey call on New Year's Eve outside his New York home when he noticed something coming out of the snow. It was Maggie, a lab mix who went missing the day after Christmas during a severe East Coast snowstorm. Maggie had been missing for five days when she responded to Austin's turkey call.

"She was just standing there wagging her tail and looking at us; I ripped my coat off and put it around her because she was shaking and she was really cold," Austin said.

Maggie has been reunited with her owner. At 17, she has trouble walking, seeing and hearing but the turkey call was loud enough to get her out of the snow where she was buried.
