Vallejo police are offering a $10,000 reward in connection with a Christmas Eve hit and run that has left the victim in critical condition.

The victim, a 54-year-old Vallejo resident, was crossing Broadway Street at Hogan Avenue around 5:19 p.m. on Dec. 24, 2012, when they were struck by a black two-door Honda Civic, with a model year between 1996 and 2000, Officer George Simpson said today.

Police indicated at the time of the crash that the Honda might have been involved in a speed contest with another vehicle.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene and has not been located, but there should be damage to the front passenger side including a broken right head light, broken bumper, damaged hood and possibly a broken windshield, Simpson said.

The victim was taken to John Muir Hospital and remains in critical and unstable condition, Simpson said.

Anyone with information on the suspect or vehicle involved in the crash should contact Vallejo police at (707) 658-4014 or the tip line at (800) 488-9383.
