Nudity ban protesters strip despite cold weather

SAN FRANCISCO

They were demonstrating against the city's new nudity ban, pushed through by Supervisor Scott Weiner. Monday was one of the last times they could walk around naked in public before the ban takes effect in two weeks.

"If on February 1st, it becomes law, I'm running against Scott Weiner for supervisor. I will be the first one. I will disrobe in defiance to the law in front of City Hall and announce my candidacy," nudist George Davis said.

The nudity ban faces a big test this week. On Thursday, a federal judge will decide whether to grant an injunction against the ban because nudists claim it violates their right to free expression.
