Jewelry helps raise awareness about gun violence

For years, Jewelry for a Cause sold inexpensive jewelry to organizations to use for fundraisers. Recently, it began its Caliber Collection, bracelets made from shredded guns and shell casings taken from the streets of Newark, New Jersey.

Orders are now coming in from around the world, from people committed to the cause and others who have been the victims of the violence.

"People who have had destruction in their lives due to illegal guns and they are also really proud to wear this as a symbol of support and comfort," Jessica Mindich said.

The bracelets come packaged in what look like evidence bags to drive home the message. Each carries the serial number from a confiscated gun.

Twenty percent of the proceeds go back to the Newark Police Department to fund gun buyback programs.

Since the Newtown school massacre, sales have skyrocketed, allowing them to donate $20,000 to the Newark police.
