Big-rig crash cleared from Hwy 101 in Sunnyvale

SUNNYVALE, Calif.

The big-rig hit a guardrail, struck a light pole and overturned near the Lawrence Expressway on-ramp at about 2:50 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash caused debris and about 30 gallons of fuel to spill onto the highway, CHP officials said.

The cleanup was completed and all lanes were reopened at 7:20 a.m.

According to the CHP, the driver of the big-rig suffered a minor cut to his forehead but refused medical treatment.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
