A $2 million partnership has been reached involving three state parks in Marin County. County and state officials struck a deal with a non-profit group to expand hours and allow China Camp, Tomales Bay and Olompali state parks to stay open.

The partnership was formed a year ago to raise matching funds to keep China Camp from being closed.

The Marin State Parks Association took advantage of a newly passed law that put a freeze on closures after the discovery of more than $50 million the State Parks Department had put in hidden accounts.
